Dear Parent/Guardian:
We have an update for the start date for your child’s first day in the Tatanka Classroom at C̣aƞṡayapi Waḳaƞyeża Owayawa Oṭi. We obtained additional funding that would allow us to expand the classroom and add 2 additional students to the classroom. For this new addition, we were able to plan out and purchase the classroom materials and select a contractor to renovate the room. We are very excited to have this renovation complete to open the classroom.
With the renovation taking longer to begin than expected, we will not be able to finish the Tatanka classroom to transition children and families into their new classrooms on our goal date of September 19th, 2022. Construction that includes demolition of a wall, addition of expanded wall and door, and finishings was delayed and will be completed on October 3rd. The classroom teachers will then use the remainder of the week to put the room together for students.
Your child’s start date for our school will be: Tuesday, October 11th, 2022.
We apologize truly for the inconvenience this may cause as this is unfortunate news with the construction delay. We would like to offer Childcare Assistance during this time for a State Approved Childcare or a preapproved Respite Care. Please discuss with your family advocate.
